A Special Valentine's Day - The Sunshine Lady Challenge 2010

Laura Bierema and Mark Ebell were the hosts of a Valentine-themed party in their home last Saturday. The event was the kickoff of the $100,000 Sunshine Lady Challenge Grant, a fundraiser benefiting Jeannette Rankin Women’s Scholarship Fund.
The challenge was given by JRF supporter Doris Buffett of Sunshine Lady Foundation, who has offered to match $50,000 in new or increased donations $1:$1, for a total gift to JRF of $100k. Donors can see their contributions matched, helping JRF provide much-needed scholarships to low-income women 35 and older.
As past president of JRF, Bierema helped build the program to its current level of awarding 80 scholarships annually. She and Ebell plan to double their gift this year. The deadline for the challenge is June 30, 2010.
