Rose Bahr, JRF scholar for 2007-2009, was recently selected as the recipient of the AAUW Ashland branch’s undergraduate scholarship. The AAUW is a national organization that advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education and research. It's nice to see that there are scholarships specifically for women because there never used to be. Now there are many. For instance ever since Barack Obama got elected president there seems to be more aid for women and especially mothers it seems. There are mothers scholarships available and grants too for moms. Hurray! it's about time. Moms need this type of financial help because they were raising children and had no time to make & save money to go back to school. I hope to see much more come out.
