The Life and Legacy of Jeannette Rankin: Championing Election Reform

Jeannette Rankin, a strong believer in democratic processes that place sovereign power with the people, championed women’s suffrage, multiple-member districting and the direct preferential vote for President. Dr. Paul-Henri Gurian and Dr. M. V. Hood, professors of political science at the University of Georgia, and Alison Bracewell-McCullick, formerly with the Georgia Office of the Secretary of State, will discuss proposals to enhance the fairness of the election process and ensure fair representation.
