Marshmallows

The tallest spaghetti tower, topped with a marshmallow, reached almost 13"

This weekend the JRF Board had a retreat to discuss the strategic direction of the organization. Before making plans about how to expand support or the importance of sharing scholar stories, the board members all participated in an icebreaker. Each team was given 20 sticks of spaghetti, one yard of tape, one yard of string and a marshmallow. The challenge was to use the supplies given to build the tallest freestanding structure capped by an ornamental marshmallow. The tallest tower measured just under 13 inches tall! After the icebreaker, everyone divided into committees to formulate plans for upcoming meetings. By the end of the retreat, the board members had renewed enthusiasm for the upcoming year and the future of JRF.
