Carol earned her B.S. degree from George Peabody College for Teachers, (now school of education of Vanderbilt University), and her M.Ed. at Boston College. She taught for 26 years in the areas of special education, elementary education, math and science. Carol has volunteered and/or held leadership and board positions with the Northeast Georgia Girl Scout Council, American Cancer Auxiliary of Athens, Athens Clarke Heritage Foundation, Athens Hadassah, and the Athens Community Council on Aging. She has served as a commissioner on the Historic Preservation Commission, was president of Congregation Children of Israel, where she also served as Sunday school director and teacher. Carol has offered cooking lessons at the Georgia Center for Continuing Education, and enjoys yoga, book club, traveling, and working on projects in her 100 year old home.
