Dear Friend, I thought you'd want to know about a great organization that gives scholarships to women who are going back to college, the Jeannette Rankin Foundation (JRF). JRF scholarship recipients are low-income women, ages 35 and older who are hardworking and motivated to succeed. They know the value of a college education. Bonnie, a 2004 recipient who is working to become a teacher, says, "I am turning 40 years old, and I am very excited that at this age, the career I always wanted will actually become a reality. It will be the beginning of a brand new life that will help me to become an independent, successful, single parent." The scholarships are $2000 each, and JRF has a goal of giving 70 scholarships in 2006. Since the Foundation began in 1976, more than 440 women all across the US have received JRF scholarships. JRF supports success: more than 80% of recipients have either graduated or are still in school. Join me and support women succeeding through education.
